Prisons/Jails : WSP North Close Compound Adult Detention Facility (Design-Build)

Crosby Group provided structural engineering design and construction services on this $100 million integrated single-source design build project for the Washington State Department of Corrections.
The project is an expansion of the existing compound at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla. The new 270,000 square foot facility contains 768 close custody beds, 100 intensive management beds, and 98 segregation beds. Other support services, including food service facilities, were part of the overall compound design. The project was completed in 2007 and was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
