Prisons/Jails : United States Penitentiary & Federal Correctional Institute, Victorville (Design-Build)
Crosby Group worked with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Hensel Phelps, and KMD Architects on the design build of two federal prisons: a 610,000 square foot, 984-bed Federal Corrections Institute (FCI) and a 674,000 square foot, 960-bed United States Penitentiary (USP).
This is the first time the Federal Bureau of Prisons has awarded two correctional facilities to be designed at the same time. We worked as an integral part of the design-build process which showed our ability to help the team achieve our common goal to meet project budgets and schedules. The result was not only finishing ahead of schedule, but also winning the Marvin M. Black Partnering Award from The Associated General Contractors of America for one of the best-partnered projects.
