Prisons/Jails : Mule Creek Infill Complex (Design-Build)   1  Crosby Group provided complete structural engineering design services for the design/build construction of a new 556,561sf Level II Dorm Complex providing 1,584-beds within six tiered dormitory-style housing units including inmate cells and accessible cells, mental health offices, classrooms, showers, and dayrooms. The complex also includes complete support facilities including two Work Zone buildings providing career technical education including workshops and classrooms, prison industries authority (PIA), and building maintenance; three Facility Support Services buildings providing health care services, kitchen and dining facilities, and laundry distribution services; two Program Support Services buildings providing general visiting, facility administration, hobby/handicraft programs, religious programs, indoor recreation gym, library and academic instruction classrooms; Complex Control building providing program space for the overall security control of the facility; Receiving and Release providing program space for inmate processing, healthcare screening and property storage; two Family Visiting buildings providing home-like facilities for families visiting inmates; Visitor/Staff Entrance providing program spaces to process the secure entry of visitors and staff at the facility; and two Guard Towers located at the perimeter of the facility to provide visual security of the complex. This new facility represents the commitment of the State of California to reducing recidivism by providing enhanced programs for the successful reentry of inmates into society and is being constructed for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
