Juvenile Facilities : Philadelphia Youth Center   1  2  3  4  5  6 Crosby Group was the lead structural design engineer for the City of Philadelphia’s new 184-bed Youth Center which replaces the existing dilapidated and underperforming facility. This new 160,000sf secure complex includes juvenile detention housing, special needs housing, intake & administration, medical facilities, a gymnasium, a kitchen and dining facility, educational facilities courtrooms and support facilities, and outdoor recreation facilities. The facilities are situated in a complex of one- and two-story buildings surrounding a central outdoor activity space which includes a running track and playing field. The modern Youth Center centrally locates all the necessary services and functions to successfully serve Philadelphia’s at-risk youth population.
