Crosby Group was commissioned by YALJ Co. Ltd. to provide structural engineering design to develop the critical conceptual and schematic designs and subsequently provide
oversight and review of the design development and construction document phases of this new 34-story, 3000-room Diyafah Hotel in Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Diyafah Hotel, at 1.5 Million square feet, is positioned to serve the large population of people on their pilgrimage to Mecca in high-quality, yet economical accommodations.
The chosen structural system utilizing primarily precast concrete elements provides a durable yet cost effective solution while minimizing the construction schedule.
The hotel includes one basement level including a large water tank, a lobby, food services serving the entire hotel population, laundry services, a prayer floor, mechanical
floor and 28 floors of guest rooms.
