Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery Seismic Retrofit |
The Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery, an historic 1918 stone and wood frame structure, is a functioning facility that required upgrading to a life-safety Risk Level III standard. The original study of the issue by the State resulted in a recommendation to retrofit the structure using an exterior shotcrete application which would cover much of the original stone fascia.
Crosby Group determined that by utilizing dry center-coring the project could be completed with minimum impact to the building’s interior and would significantly reduce the construction cost and duration. The project was awarded to the Crosby Group and was completed with virtually no visual impact to the building’s historic fabric.
