Crosby Group priovided structural design for this OSHPD-compliant 1500-bed secured facility, which is the largest of its kind in the California state hospital system.
The campus includes 48 unique and challenging buildings and costs an estimated $325 million
to build. Various structural systems were chosen so that considerations such as security,
flexibility, aesthetics, and budget could be addressed on a building-per-building basis.
Our design included the formation of a separate satellite office and initiated extensive
working sessions with all members of the design team to ensure both quality and coordinated
design efforts. This project was a collaborative effort between the California Departments of
Mental Health, General Services, and Corrections.
