Crosby Group provided structural design services for this new Visual and Performing Arts Complex at Evergreen Valley Community College. The 43,000 square foot Complex includes a new 2-story Visual Arts building which houses a 3-D design studio, wood working shop, small metals lab, digital media and photos labs, a painting studio and gallery. The adjacent Performing Arts building is a one-story, 28 foot tall structure including a 380-seat theater with a 20 foot high lobby, which sits adjacent to a single-story classroom / lecture hall structure housing a voice studio, piano lab, and chorus rooms. This all-steel structural design includes steel moment frames which allowed flexibility of spaces during the overall design process.
Construction of the Complex was completed for the fall session of 2009. The Performing Arts Complex will house most of the Visual and Performing Arts programs for the College. This Complex is located at the front entrance of the College and serve as a stunning visual centerpiece.
